It's amazing what you can find on Ebay

Today just for fun I thought I would search for items from Galva Illinois.  This is the town that my mother came from and it has under 3000 people living there.  We visited every summer when I was young (my grandmother and one of my mother's sister lived there).  You could walk downtown from both of their homes.  Some of my best memories of childhood are from that place.

So here is what I came across.  I found this picture for sale back from 1948.  My grandmother is in this picture. I couldn't believe it.  As they say it's a small world.

Fall bathrooms

I usually don't decorate for the seasons too much in the bathrooms as I don't have much space.  Here is the main level powder room.  It is painted blue with brown accents  so I like to keep with the theme.

I painted the three pumpkins to coordinate and added some glitter.  I don't have much space in the sink area so I only decorated one corner.

Now for the basement bathroom.  The color of my walls are perfect for Fall decor.

We are still working on our master bathroom tiling the shower and bathtub area.   It is hard to work on it in the evening after work.  I am lucky to get one row done a day. I am hoping that this Saturday we can at least get the shower area all tiled.

Fall front porch ( I think I have a pumpkin problem)

Here it is almost the first day of Fall (my favorite season).  The trees are starting to change and it is a little cooler today.  I am not sure if I like the way my front porch turned out.  I think I have too much of a pumpkin theme going on.  What do you think?

I made the pumpkin pillows from a table cloth.  Right now they are pinned.  I didn't have time today to get them sewn but of course that is just one trick of staging.

It is too much yet?  There are a few more by the door.

The front door is the only area with no pumpkins.  How did I do that?
Oh wait I do see one small pumpkin on the bottom right.

Here is the long view of the porch.

I still need to get a rug for the porch and get the yard decorated.  I will probably get that done next weekend.  My tree has started changing color a little bit and has lost some leaves already.  My two tiny burning bushes are bright red also.

It is almost time for long sleeves and scarfs while sipping wine on the porch.  My favorite season.

Fall entry

I can check off one more room on my list of decorating as I managed to get the entry way done.  I got the hall tree and table done.  I love my hall tree.  It was my grandmothers and even though the mirror needs to be replaced I think it adds to its charm.  It is streaky with black spots but you can still see yourself.

My entry is one that I had never seen before.  When you first walk into my home there is an oval area that lets you go three different ways.  To the right is my husband's office.  It used to be the formal living/dining room.  We had a wall put between the two so he could have an office.  Straight ahead will take you by the dining room and into the living room.  If you go to the left this is what you see.

The door to the right of the table is the powder room and to the left is the closet ( you can't see it in this picture).  I had the hall tree where the table is when we first moved in but we use it every day so I moved it to where it is now.

I decided to add some decor below the table but I had to remove it since Kolby likes to chew on the flowers.  That dog will eat just about anything that is unedible.

On to the next room.  I am hoping to get the front porch done this weekend.  I like to have it done by the first day of Fall.  I am ready for the cooler weather to be here.  Last week we had a couple of Fall like days last week with a bit of snow but now it is back in the 80's.  That's Colorado for you.

Fall has arrived in the living room

It took me awhile but I was able to get the living room decorated.  I still have many more rooms to go.  I have so much stuff that I can't decide what I want to use in which room.  I think I will do the powder room and the entry next since I still have the bathtub in the dining room.  It has become useful as it is holding a lot of my fall decor so my dogs won't chew them up.  So here is the living room reveal. First is the fireplace mantel.

Here is how it looks from a distance. I couldn't get an good shots without the glare on the clock.

Now for some close ups.

Here is the area with the end tables and coffee table.  I decided to make them simple this year.  I added my orange pillows for Fall to the chair and couch.

I have this little table in the living room near the kitchen that I thought would be perfect for my owls.  Nothing fancy for this table since we use it for keys and what nots.

The last area is the entertainment center.  I think my favorite decor in the living room is above the television.  We have a row of windows on the opposite wall so there is always the glare on the television when you try to take pictures.

Well that's it for now.  I have got the get the inside done soon so I can get the porches done for the first day of Fall.  Wish me luck.
